What is sheer lingerie?

Sheer means the fabric does half the talking (and what's underneath does the rest). Our sheer lingerie is cut from European power mesh, embroidered tulle and deliciously soft, luxury Italian jersey, all built to reveal skin without giving up structure. We've cut our sheers into erotic playwear, powerwear and lifewear silhouettes that play well indoors and out. Everything is made in New York, in limited runs, $120 to $695.

Is sheer the same as mesh and tulle?

Sheer is the property, see-through by design. Mesh and tulle fabrics are two ways to get there. Mesh has the bigger, stretchier weave, built for movement. Tulle is finer, softer, the one embroidery gets worked into. A mesh bra and a tulle bra are both sheer. They're just not built the same way and can look, feel and perform differently in lingerie.

What is embroidered lingerie?

Embroidered lingerie uses thread woven into bras, panties, bodysuits and more to create designs, patterns or effects. Put embroidery on invisible tulle, like we do, and the tulle disappears. What's left is the pattern, sitting directly on skin like it was never on fabric at all.

What makes sheer lingerie luxury rather than cheap?

Fabric and construction, and you can see both from a photograph if you know where to look. Cheap sheer is a single layer of nylon mesh with a raw or glued edge that curls after two washes. Luxury sheer is a woven ground with finished seams, real hardware, and enough recovery that it holds a shape instead of hanging off one.
