frequently asked questions
What makes a luxury panty different from a cheaply made one?
Everything that happens at the edges. Cheaply made panties are cut from thin synthetic with a glued or raw hem that curls after a few washes, and a gusset that's an afterthought. Ours are cut in ethical Japanese plonge leather, peace silk, French lace and luxury Italian jersey, with finished seams, real hardware and a lining that's chosen rather than added. Made in New York in small runs, $125 to $675. You can see the difference in a photograph if you know where to look, and you can feel it in about four seconds.
What's the difference between a thong, a g-string and a brief?
Coverage, and where the fabric sits. A brief covers the seat fully. A thong narrows to a strip at the back but keeps a waistband with some width. A g-string reduces both to the minimum, usually a fine cord at the hip and centre back. All three can be luxurious or cheaply made. The silhouette is a styling decision, not a quality one, so pick for what you're wearing over it and how you want to feel underneath.
What are morning-after panties?
Ours are the Ubi, and they exist for the night that runs long. A luxury Italian jersey panty that arrives with its own to-go sleeve, so a clean pair lives in your bag, your glovebox or your desk without announcing itself. $140. Some people call that practical. We'd call it romantic. You planned for the night to go well, and for yourself to be looked after when it did.
Can you wear panties as clothing?
Ours are designed to be seen, so yes. High-waisted styles work under a sheer skirt or over tights with a blazer. A zippered panty reads as tailoring from the front. Harness and ouvert styles were built for the parts of the night when nothing is coming off. If a piece only makes sense with the lights off, we probably didn't make it.
What are ouvert and backless panties?
Ouvert means open, on purpose and by design. A crotchless gusset, an open back, a reveal placed exactly where it counts. Backless boxers leave the seat bare while keeping the shape of a boxer at the front. These aren't novelty pieces with an elastic slit. They're engineered so the opening holds its line, which is the entire difference between erotic and costume.
Which panty should I start with?
Start with the one that changes what you already own. The Veil Micro G-String at $125 and the Hot Stack stackable g-string trio at $130 are the lowest-commitment way in. The Sweet Tooth High-Waist Zipper Panty at $250 is the one people ask about, with two-way zippers that open from either end. And if you want the object rather than the outfit, the Peepshow Ouvert Panty at $675 is silk-lined Japanese plonge leather, and it is not subtle.
